Overview

The Employee Experience Director is a corporate leadership position supporting two lines of business, Leo A Daly and Lockwood, Andrews &Newnam, Inc. (LAN) on the People Operations team.  Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer, this role is a key driver of employee engagement and is responsible for the design and implementation of company programs and events which foster employee development, learning, and culture building.  This role drives retention and growth, directs the organizational development strategy, and leads a team to execute and deliver on talent development programs.  This position will require you to use your experience in building and executing integrated learning initiatives that drive high performance and enhance our employee experience and culture. You will help drive change-management strategies and champion initiatives that create a framework for employee career pathing and skill development.

Responsibilities

  • Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive organizational development strategy to support the company's growth, foster employee engagement, and encourage learning.  Plan and execute inclusive people programs which engage, retain, and develop employees, including but not limited to: onboarding and ongoing learning pathways, performance management, succession planning and talent reviews.
  • Relationships and Subject Matter Expertise: Partner and consult with engineering and design leaders on professional development with the use of nationally-recognized resources for career pathing and job architecture across the organizations.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and support the growth of talent development professionals and office support teams. Fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and operational excellence. Lead “hospitality focused” initiatives across the organization to elevate the workplace experience.
  • Performance Management Systems: Oversee design and execution of the Leo A Daly/LAN COACH platform, tracking and reporting on progress and thematic data. Ensure all tools for professional development are integrated and cohesive in support of a cohesive development strategy. 
  • Event Management: Direct event planning, retreats and training initiatives for various audiences within the organization.  Design strategy and budget for all events hosted by the companies. 
  • Competency Development: Support the ongoing build-out of LAN and Leo A Daly’s job architecture and career competencies to best align with employee and talent development needs and progression.
  • EDI: Lead Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion strategy to embed into the values and culture of the companies.  Oversee and support employee resource group (ERGs).
  • Budget and Financial Management: Develop and manage the talent development budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions and return on investment.  Manage and engage third party training providers. 
  • Campus Recruiting: Create and manage the efforts of campus recruitment programs as well as the successful placement of candidates. 
  • Emergency Management: Partner with teams to develop and oversee emergency response plans for all offices, ensuring business continuity in the event of disruptions.

Qualifications

  • Minimum fifteen years of recent relevant work experience as a Human Resources (HR) professional (or related); preferred specialization in one or more areas such as Employee Experience and Culture, Organizational Design, Talent Development, and/or Talent Strategy
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university required; advanced degree from an accredited college/university in industrial and organizational psychology, organizational development, behavioral science or related field preferred.  Certification in Human Resources preferred.
  • Displayed knowledge of and proven experience consulting and leading senior business stakeholders through, strategic HR change initiatives within a matrixed, collaborative, fast-paced environment; demonstrated the ability to lead the communications strategy to facilitate change management for Employee Experience and Development initiatives; prior project management/change enablement experience; Internal or external consulting experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategies, programs and initiatives to enhance Employee Experience and Development; displayed the ability to manage and run employee experience initiatives; capability to work with cross functional leaders to ensure effective implementation
  • Passionate about creating an exceptional people experience, a willingness to listen for feedback and explore diverse perspectives, in addition to being able to handle and analyz sensitive and confidential data and build relationships within a complex stakeholder landscape
  • Effective communication skills (both written and verbal) and proficient in Microsoft applications (such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams); ability to travel as needed
  • Strong financial skills with experience managing budgets and driving cost efficiencies.
  • Proactive and forward thinker, high energy to lead staff
  • Ability to partner, present and negotiate with various levels within the organization, from C-suite executives to business leaders and senior/mid-level managers
  • Comfortable in ambiguous situations, self-starter, and self-learner
  • Multi-tasking skills with ability to manage complex projects, meet strict deadlines and drive timely and appropriate corrective action on all escalated matters on day-to-day basis
  • Ability to build presentations that convey a clear story supported by data findings
