Responsibilities

We seek an experienced and driven Engineer III to join our dynamic Stormwater team. In this role, you will lead and contribute to the design, analysis, and implementation of stormwater management systems, flood control projects, and drainage solutions. Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and clients, you will play a pivotal role in developing sustainable and resilient infrastructure that positively impacts communities.

 

  • Manage and contribute to large-scale flood control and drainage system projects, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations.
  • Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for stormwater systems using industry-standard software.
  • Develop engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates in collaboration with senior engineers.
  • Prepare technical documents and reports for regulatory compliance and project approvals.
  • Provide technical guidance during construction activities, including site inspections and monitoring for compliance with design specifications.
  • Design and implement stormwater best management practices (BMPs) for sustainable and effective drainage solutions.
  • Integrate stormwater solutions into site designs in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Assist in the preparation of quantity estimates, construction documents, and survey layouts.
  • Review reports, maps, drawings, and survey data to plan and design projects.
  • Mentor and supervise junior engineers or designers as needed.
  • Ensure the quality of all assigned tasks in accordance with Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in engineering from an accredited four-year college or university
  • Engineer-In-Training (EIT) Certification required.
  • 2–6 years of professional experience in stormwater engineering, hydrology, or a related field.
  • Solid understanding of hydrology, hydraulics, stormwater management concepts, and the principles of flood control and drainage systems.
  • Proficiency in computer-assisted engineering and design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and hydraulic modeling tools (e.g., HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, EPA SWMM).
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations and guidelines related to stormwater management.
  • Valid driver’s license
