Responsibilities

LAN is looking to grow it's Facilities Group architectural practice and is looking for exceptional individuals to serve in the role as Project Manager in our Austin, Dallas, or Houston office. The ideal candidate will be committed to their practice, the community, client satisfaction and possess excellent interpersonal skills and a command of both verbal and graphic communication techniques and be able to effectively manage multiple projects and client relationships as well as establish new ones. This individual will have the opportunity to help and assist growing the business within our market sector, primarily in the local and state agency and healthcare arenas, and will assist in the development of our yearly business plan and our strategic outline for long range growth.

 

Responsibilities

  • Identify and Manage Clients to grow our business
  • Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.
  • Direct and manage project development from beginning to end.
  • Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
  • Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
  • Draft and submit budget proposals, and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary.
  • Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
  • Track project milestones and deliverables.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
  • Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle.
  • Conduct project post mortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
  • Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships, acquire leads, position for projects, develop teaming arrangements, lead proposal preparation, and participate in interviews.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • University degree or college diploma, preferably in the field of engineering or architecture.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect. 
  • Knowledge of building design and construction including building site development, building substructure, and building envelop, M/E/P/S systems.
  • Demonstrated competency in master planning, program budgeting and schedule setting.
  • 5 years direct work experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution.
  • Familiarity with software applications used in Project Management
  • Technically competent with various software programs, such as Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD.
  • Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
  • Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Reacts to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently.
  • Flexible during times of change.
  • Ability to read communication styles of team members and contractors who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines.
  • Persuasive, encouraging, and motivating.
  • Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments.
  • Ability to defuse tension among project team, should it arise.
  • Ability to bring project to successful completion through political sensitivity.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Adept at conducting research into project-related issues and products.
  • Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies.
  • Customer service skills an asset.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years direct work experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution.
  • Experience in the State Agency, Healthcare and/or Higher Education marketplaces.
  • Strong familiarity with project management software, such as e-Builder, Microsoft Project, Project Wise, Primavera Contract manager, or Newforma.
  • Experience at working across multiple office locations with distributed human resources
  • Demonstrated experience in personnel management.
  • Demonstrated experience in business development and client relation building
