    Responsibilities

    The successful candidate will conduct market analyses which will include analyzing service offerings, market sectors, client opportunities, and the overall efficiency and profitability of the business. In addition, the LAN Business Analyst will develop and monitor metrics and ensure business data and reporting needs are met. Strong technology, analytical, and communication skills are must-have traits of the successful candidate.

     

    The job responsibilities include:

    • Creating a detailed business analysis that will outline problems, opportunities, and solutions for the business
    • Budgeting and forecasting
    • Planning and monitoring
    • Financial modelling
    • Market sector evaluation
    • Client target list evaluation
    • Defining business requirements and reporting them back to management

     

    In addition to performing financial and operational modelling, the LAN Business Analyst is expected to develop new models that underpin sound business decisions. The position also requires a strong understanding of reporting requirements as well as experience in forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis combined with understanding of key performance indicators.

     

    The end goal is to provide financial insights that helps the decision-making process and aligns resource allocation within the business. The LAN Business Analyst should also drive fresh initiatives for financial planning and business intelligence systems.

    Qualifications

    • A Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Management, Information Technology, or similar applicable field; an MBA is considered a plus.
    • 5 years experience in a similar role
    • IIBA certification is a plus with preference given to those who hold either a CCBA (Certification of Capability in Business Analysis) or CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional)
    • Ability to read, analyze and interpret both internal and external documents such as general media/publications, professional journals, technical procedures, governmental regulations, policies, proposals, and standard operating procedures
    • Confident, comfortable communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Demonstrated history of the application of concepts such as probability, statistics, modeling, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical solutions
    • Works with mathematical concepts such as averages and/or variances
    • Ability to analyze information and to evaluate the implications of a course of action or solution
    • Ability to interpret and apply common sense understanding to carry out a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
    • Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
    • Evaluate trends in data or information
    • Ability to work with others in a team environment
    • Demonstrated strong relationship management skills with internal clients (e.g. management, peers and colleagues); proven ability to develop collaborative approaches
    • Demonstrates ability to identify and recommend processes improvements
    • Demonstrates excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and multi-task while maintaining strict attention to detail
    • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative style
    • Demonstrates the ability to use sound judgment and discretion regarding confidential information.
    • Finds common ground and can gain collaboration among management, colleagues and peers; can influence outcomes without directing or commanding advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) preferred
    • Strong project management skills including, critical ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure, and meeting deadlines
