In this role, the selected candidate will be instrumental in the design of State, County & City Transportation Projects.
This will incorporate design and production of deliverables for transportation design projects including roadways, retaining walls, bike & pedestrian facilities, intersections, interchanges. It will include design and development of roadway schematics, traffic control plan roll plots, project layouts, plan/profiles, typical sections, intersection layouts, bridge layouts, culvert layouts, traffic control plans, SW3P plans, utility layouts, traffic signal plans, illumination plans, quantity take-offs, summary sheets, selection of plan standards, construction estimates and PS&E supporting paperwork. This will require a familiarity with schematic and PS&E development processes.
Responsibilities include preparing conceptual, preliminary & geometric roadway schematics, construction plans and documents for transportation facilities while also assisting in preparing cost estimates.
Responsibilities also include coordination between disciplines such as drainage, structures, illumination, ITS, signing, traffic signals and coordination with other LAN offices working on the project(s).
Highly proficient with MicroStation software, working knowledge of Axiom
At least ten (10) years continuous experience in the A/E consulting field immediately prior to this assignment
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, particularly MS Excel and MicroStation interfacing
Minimum High School or GED equivelant with preference for completion of an Associates Degree
