Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam, Inc. (LAN) is a full-service consulting firm offering planning, engineering and program management services. Founded in 1935, LAN has grown from its humble beginnings as a small Houston firm to a national leader in heavy infrastructure engineering, to a full service firm with a growing facilities design practice. A division of LEO A DALY, an international architecture/engineering firm, LAN has access to the expertise of nearly 800 professionals in 31 offices across the country.

LAN is looking for an experienced designer with extensive knowledge of the Revit platform and BIM modeling who can act in both production and librarian capacities.   We anticipate the position to be heavier on the production side with periods of BIM model setup and maintenance on the lighter side. In other words, this is not purely a support position, design production is expected.

In this role, the selected candidate will be instrumental in the design of various facilities projects.

This will incorporate production of the design of the civil aspects of water/wastewater design projects including piping, pump stations, pipelines, site layouts, and treatment process equipment.  This will require a familiarity with water and wastewater treatment processes and technologies.

Responsibilities include preparing construction plans  and documents for facilities projects while also assisting in preparing cost estimates.

Responsibilities also include coordination between disciplines such as civil, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation.

This person will provide production support in their respective discipline, M/E/P/S/A as well as be responsible for project (model) setup, model maintenance and troubleshooting, and other related BIM activities.

This person will take direct responsibility for planning workflows, creating families, training team members, and maintaining the integrity of project models throughout the project lifecycle.

This person will be responsible for providing Revit training and support to other team members in all disciplines and helping to manage the development of their proficiencies. This person will be responsible for developing understanding of why things are done along with developing best practices for the design team.

    • Minimum of 2 years advanced experience in creating complex, multi-disciplined Revit models of various types of facilities ranging from office buildings to sewage plants.
    • Must be able to manage models coordinated with outside disciplines in complementary platforms such as AutoCad and Civil 3D.
    • Must possess extreme proficiency with all aspects of the Revit platform, as well as production-level proficiency with AutoCad and/or Civil 3D.
    • Proficient in the use of NavisWorks, Sketchup, and other tools necessary for presenting the Revit model to untrained audiences.  VR experience helpful.
    • Proficient and willing to provide production support in their respective discipline
    • Associates degree or equivalent experience is required.
    • AutoDesk Certified Professionals are preferred.
