    LAN’s Transportation services include comprehensive planning, preliminary and detailed design, and construction phase.     Responsibilities

    Assist the Transportation Manager in extending leadership and direction in the preparation of quality design deliverables. Perform as a roadway task lead, a 3-D geometrics lead, and work into either a Technical Lead or a Deputy Project Manager and Project Manager role. Apply engineering expertise in the daily operations of preparing Plans, Specification & Estimate (PS&E), preliminary engineering reports (PER), and schematics for various roadway projects. Responsibilities also include helping to maintain client relationships, maintain quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC), and monitor project costs. Ability to work as a contributing member of a highly qualified and experienced design team and assist with the strategic growth of the transportation department.  Additional duties include:

     

    • Assist with managing projects, starting with development of the initial project design concept, development of a project plan (including identification of staffing requirements and preparation of project schedule)
    • Assist with the execution of project design (management of resources within constraints of project budget and schedule), and culminating with management of bid and construction phase engineering service support.
    • Serve as a project engineer.
    • Independently coordinate the work of engineers, designers/draft persons and sub-consultants throughout the project’s execution.
    • Establish and maintain client relations.
    • Attends client meetings - days or nights.
    • Be involved with marketing, contractual development, and design implementation.
    • Assist with managing the financial aspects of assigned engineering projects; coordinating and adjusting the work effort within the project team to ensure project work is completed on schedule and within allocated budget.
    • Simultaneously manage multiple projects and clients.
    • Responsible for project team quality system tasks as defined in LAN's Quality Assurance / Quality Control guidelines.

     

     

    Qualifications

    Education

    • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in engineering from an accredited four-year college or university
    • Valid driver’s license
    • 1+ years licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE)
    • 5+ years experience in preparation of Plans, Specification & Estimates (PS&E) and roadway schematics for municipal and TxDOT rural and urban roadway projects
    • 2+ years experience in 3D Design development with Geopak, Inroads, or Open Roads
    • Working experience with MS Office products and with Microstation (and AutoCAD a plus)
    • TxDOT pre-certifications preferred
    • Experience with Primavera and/or Microsoft Project preferred
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
