Project management, client management and marketing potential clients is the primary focus of this position. Plan and manage all aspects of small, medium and large water/wastewater utility projects. Independently coordinates the work of engineers, designers/draft persons and subconsultants throughout the project’s execution. Establish and maintain client relations. Is involved with marketing, contract development, and design execution. Participates in reviews with various governing agencies for code and regulatory compliance. Is responsible to coordinate workload throughout the project, from initial plan development to completed project design, ensuring projects are within budget and on schedule. Is responsible for managing the financial aspects of assigned engineering projects; coordinating and adjusting the work effort within the project team to ensure project work is completed on schedule and within allocated budget. Capable of simultaneously managing multiple projects and clients. Works with Accounting and Department Manager for project reviews.
Special Requirements: Knowledge of San Antonio regional client base, with particular emphasis on SAWS and surrounding small cities. Sound knowledge foundation of water/wastewater utility design. Able to manage water/wastewater utility projects with a focus upon transmisson and conveyance, starting with development of the initial project design concept, development of a project plan (including identification of staffing requirements and preparation of project schedule), execution of project design (management of resources within constraints of project budget and schedule), and culminating with management of bid and construction phase engineering service support. At ease communicating/meeting with clients throughout all phases of a project. Proven oral, written and team communication skills are necessary.
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering required.
PE registration required.
10 + years of water/wastewater conveyance and utility design experience required.
A minimum of 2 years of client contact.
